Ann Arbor Juggling Festival - Last Minute Details

Hello Jugglers,

Only a few more days until the Ann Arbor Juggling Arts
Festival.  The fest runs this Saturday, May 6 from
10am to 7:30pm at Wide World Sports Center in Ann
Arbor. After 7:30pm, you are still welcome to juggle
outside at the soccer center.  However, the indoor
fields will be unavailable in the evening due to
soccer games. (What do they think this is, a soccer
facility?)

Also, Ann Arbor jugglers Fred & Deanna Isaman have
graciously offered to make their home available to
anyone who wants to hang out afterward. We'll be
providing some basic snacks (soda, chips, and a couple
of healthier choices), but please plan to bring your
favorite drink, snack, dessert, or appetizer (if you
really want to get fancy) if you'll be joining us.
(Fred tells me he likes caviar but he's not sure if
it's in season right now.) Details and directions (and
the location of a store near Fred and Deanna's house
[subtle hint?]) will be available at the fest. :-)

Open juggling and impromptu lessons for beginners will
run throughout the day on Saturday.  A list of
workshops and their starting times will be posted at
the fest.

Prop vendors on site this year include Jireh, Jolly
Lama (Juggle Stix), and GBallz.

Although it's subject to change, our tentative
schedule of activities for Saturday is as follows:

10:00am - Field opens for open juggling
1:00pm - Juggle Art Painting - Bill Roddy will be
traveling in from Ohio to juggle and paint at the same
time.  See his web site at

(Bill constructs a 7-foot cube out of clear, plastic
sheeting, sets up a canvas inside, dips his props in
paint, and juggles inside the cube to create paintings
-- all to a live jazz quartet.  After his
performance/demonstration, others are welcome to try.
Bill will also be providing the protective clothing. 
This activity is weather permitting and may be moved
to an earlier or later time slot.)
2:00pm - Juggling Games
7:30pm - Festival ends (well, we relinquish the soccer
fields)
8:30pm - Midnight - Hang out at Fred & Deanna's house

Food:
Pizza, hot dogs, and candy will be available for
purchase at the snack bar between Noon and 5pm.

Weather permitting, we will also juggle this weekend
on Friday evening and again on Sunday afternoon on the
campus of the University of Michigan.  Note that there
is no rain location for either Friday or Sunday.

If you are coming in from out of town, don't forget to
check the AAA or Michigan Department of Transportation
web sites for the latest in road construction and lane
closures.
