Hey, I'm just putting the festival announcement list under some list
management software (GNU Mailman) instead of managing it by hand.  That
means we can easily do something like give people a link they can go to
subscribe or unsubscribe themselves.  But for now it's just a convenient
way for me to set things up for sending the announcements.  This is just
a test message (only you and me are on this list at the moment).

Only you and I will be permitted to send to the list, and it's easy
enough to add additional filtering over that if necessary, so there
shouldn't be any spam or privacy issues.
